Agnelites Make a Mark in State Athletics Meet.

By doing this, she found herself among the select band of top high jumpers in the state in the under-17 girls’ category. She has also qualified to make her national debut in Patna during the National competition towards the end of December. Her coach Srinivas Gupta was quite impressed about Anchal’s performance at the state meet which had champion athletes from across Maharashtra. “It was her best performance ever and such a giant leap at this age has been rare for a class 9 student,” said Gupta.

Apart from Anchal, Saif Chafekar also won double gold medals in the 100 meter sprint as well as 110 meter hurdles in the boys under-17 category. He has also been selected in the state team for the national championship.

In the boys under-14 age group, Pratik Koli won a gold in the 80m hurdles and a silver in the 200m sprint event which ensured his spot at the national meet. His teammate Ashutosh Behera won a silver medal in the 100m run and he has got a place in the state team for nationals.
